(More customer reviews)The positive review just prior mine would be helpful to those who have installed this hitch before. I had not, found the instructions to be lacking, and the installation moderately difficult. If you are not mechanically inclined and do not have a tool box full of tools, I do not recommend attempting this on your own.
First, while it is clear the fog lights must be removed, the instructions never address this procedure anywhere: the tools required to remove them are not included in the required tool list nor do the instructions explain the wiring for the lights must be disconnected prior to actually attempting to remove the bolts that hold the bumper on.
Second: the first portion of the instructions state to remove the six bumper bolts, only the four most obvious front bolts are addressed, and the two side bolts are ignored. Further, the instructions state to reinstall the four bumper bolts but never address the side two.
Third, nowhere in the instructions does it state the front license plate and bracket either need to be modified or removed. This is a bit of a problem if you're a California resident and would have been nice to know "up-front."
One last thing, be careful of the handle bolts. When you tighten the four new Reese provided bolts to the specified 50-pounds, the handles bend very easily.
I got the hitch installed and it looks good, but it was MUCH more difficult than I expected and a second person would have been nice too.
Good luck!
