(More customer reviews)I have bought the Custom Accesories model they show here, from an auto-parts store. They are OK, but they don't stay on my car well, and the main problem is that they are made of a cheap, hard plastic that cracks and splits apart after a month or two. I have had to actually epoxy them back together. Later on I found the other kind they have here at Amazon -- the curvy ones that are made by Bell-- at an auto parts store also and they are manufactured out of a higher-quality and more flexible material. I don't like the style as much as the Custom Accessories type, but the quality is superior if you are looking for something that will last more than a few weeks.
Also, the last time I checked, the manufacturer of the Custom Accessories model has changed the style, now using the same round reflector from the inside on the outside too, doesn't look as good and probably not as effective in terms of night visibility. Despite the picture they have here I don't know if Amazon still provides the original Custom Accessories model (they're stamped "made in Hong Kong") or is now selling the new style ("made in China") ... the original style is no longer available at auto parts stores.
On ALL kinds, the little reflector-pieces readily pop out and get lost if you aren't careful. I think they could do a better job of anchoring them to the guard.
Ideally I would like to find some that are made of the material that Bell uses, but have the style of the original Custom Accessories model. Shouldn't be so hard but I haven't found any yet.
Like many people I don't like the standard, long skinny chrome or black ones that extend the whole length of the door edge but that is what seems to be mostly available out there. Not cool or sporty at all, it's a very boring look.
I know this sound picky but so what? When it comes to my car, I AM picky, and I make no apologies for it. It's surprising how something as small and minor as these little guards can really change the whole look of your car.
